Back to Bloxd Code
Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 2026
This policy covers what Bloxd Code ("the site") collects when you use it, why, and how you can control it.
Information we collect
When you create an account, directly or via Google Sign-In, we store:
- Your username and a securely hashed password (if you sign up directly - we never store your actual password)
- Your email address and basic profile info (name, avatar) if you sign in with Google
- Anything you add to your profile: bio, avatar, portfolio background/audio, social links, and custom portfolio code
- Content you post: forum discussions, uploaded code snippets, comments, and any images/files you upload
- Basic technical data: IP address (used for spam/abuse prevention and rate limiting), and cookies needed to keep you signed in
How we use it
- To operate your account, save your work, and show your content to other users as intended (e.g. your public portfolio, forum posts, and shared code)
- To prevent spam, abuse, and automated bot signups (via Cloudflare Turnstile and rate limiting)
- To moderate the community (reviewing reported content, enforcing bans/mutes when necessary)
We do not sell your data, and we do not use it for advertising.
Third-party services
We rely on a small number of infrastructure providers to run the site:
- Google - if you use "Sign in with Google," Google shares your basic profile info with us per your Google account settings
- Cloudflare - hosts the site, its database, and file storage, and provides bot/spam protection (Turnstile) and security filtering
Cookies
We use a small number of strictly functional cookies - to keep you signed in, and briefly during Google sign-in to prevent cross-site request forgery. We don't use tracking or advertising cookies.
Data retention
We keep your account and content for as long as your account exists. If you delete your account, we remove your personal profile data and stop showing your content; some residual copies may briefly remain in backups before they're cleared through normal backup rotation. We may retain minimal records where needed to prevent abuse (e.g. to stop a banned account from immediately re-registering).
Your rights and choices
- You can edit or delete your own posts, uploaded code, and profile customization at any time from within the site
- You can request full account deletion, or a copy of the personal data we hold about you, by contacting us below
- If you're a California resident, you have rights under California privacy law (CCPA/CPRA) to know what personal information we hold about you and to request its deletion - the same contact below covers this
Security
We take reasonable technical measures to protect your data (password hashing, encrypted connections, bot/abuse protection), but no method of transmission or storage online is ever 100% secure, so we can't guarantee absolute security.
Links to other websites
Forum posts and shared code may contain links to external sites we don't control. We aren't responsible for the content or privacy practices of those sites - review their own policies before sharing information with them.
Children's privacy
Bloxd Code is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we'll remove it.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes in a meaningful way, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
